Jessie Kilguss tiene un objetivo importante a lograr el próximo Septiembre 23, pues estará celebrando la fiesta de lanzamiento de What Do Whales Dream About at Night?, su nuevo álbum, en el Rockwood 3 de New York, y tras llegar a nuestra audiencia con Great White Shark, sorprendernos con el correspondiente vídeo oficial, ahora nos trae un nuevo sencillo, originado como parte de una actividad bastante prolífica del Bushwick Book Club, del que también es parte activa nuestro buen amigo Charlie Nieland (Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, Blondie), el cual ya se encuentra disponible en plataformas digitales como Spotify, Apple Music, y Bandcamp, acompañado de un vídeo estupendamente realizado por Alex Dar.

Sleepwalking Heart es una reflexión respecto a cierto tipo de fantasmas y cómo su exorcismo, a manera de proceso encaminado a hacer la paz con nuestro pasado, los convierte en avatares de nuestra existencia como recordatorio de que aquellos que tocan y resuenan con armonía en nuestra existencia eventualmente se convierten en parte de quienes somos hasta el final de nuestros días.

This song was inspired by Mira Jacobs’ book ‘The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing’. I wrote it in 2018 to perform in a show with the Bushwick Book Club, a performance series where songwriters all read the same book, write a song about it and perform the song at a public show. Although this song is about a specific book, I wanted it to be a bit broader and more mysterious.
Esta canción se inspiró en el libro de Mira Jacobs ‘The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing’. La escribí en 2018 para presentarme en un espectáculo con el Bushwick Book Club, una serie de presentaciones en las que todos los compositores leen el mismo libro, escriben una canción al respecto y la interpretan en un espectáculo público. Aunque esta canción es sobre un libro específico, quería que fuera un poco más amplia y misteriosa.

We recorded it in LA in April 2021, just as it was kind of OK to be inside with people outside your bubble. I was so grateful to be making music with other people again. Because this hadn’t been allowed for a couple years, the whole recording experience was that much more meaningful and charged for me.
La grabamos en Los Ángeles en abril de 2021, justo cuando estaba bien reunirse en interiores con gente fuera de tu burbuja. Estaba tan agradecida de volver a hacer música con otras personas. Debido a que esto no se había permitido durante un par de años, toda la experiencia de grabación fue mucho más significativa y gratificante para mí.
