Yesterday’s Girl es el reconocimiento de aquello que es, a partir de la reconciliación con lo que fue, para abrir las puertas a aquello que será sin importar el pasado pues, pese a lo amargo que hubiesen podido ser algunas memorias, éstas se diluyeron con la experiencia y, gracias a ellas, más aún gracias a los bellos recuerdos, es que somos aquí y ahora, agradecidos y afortunados.

Being asked to sing one-half of the lead part on ‘Yesterday’s Girl’ was a wonderful surprise. I showed up at Magic Door Recording prepared to do backing vocals. It was Ray Ketchem who suggested a duet during the session. It’s an honor to sing the female lead part on a Lloyd Cole/Dave Derby penned song, originally written for Darlene Love.
Que me pidieran que cantar la mitad de la parte principal de ‘Yesterday’s Girl’ fue una sorpresa maravillosa. Me presenté en Magic Door Recording preparada para hacer coros. Fue Ray Ketchem quien sugirió un dueto durante la sesión. Es un honor cantar la parte principal femenina en una canción escrita por Lloyd Cole/Dave Derby, originalmente escrita para Darlene Love.

As I recall, we wrote very quickly hoping to channel Springsteen channeling Spector, with copious help from Blanton’s of Kentucky. I’d completely forgotten it until Dave presented this version and it feels like I won the lottery. It is wonderful. Very happy to have my name in the credits.
