A Shoreline Dream es la banda integrada por Ryan Policky y Erik Jeffries, quienes durante 2018 estuvieran bastante movidos con sencillos cómo Waitout, In The Ready Sound, y Room for the Others, y que a partir de entonces han evolucionado su proceso creativo, de manera tal que tienen en melting una nueva colección de canciones que estarán disponibles en su totalidad para el próximo 21 de Agosto, en tanto que, para Julio 21, el tema que te presentamos a continuación, primer sencillo del nuevo disco, estará circulando en plataformas digitales.

Seek To Hide es la yuxtaposición ulterior al juego de las escondidillas, pues si bien el objetivo del juego parte de ocultarse, o encontrar a quienes se esconden, para ganar, en las relaciones humanas modernas parecería que nadie quiere ganar, pues el «buscar» tiene connotaciones negativas de acuerdo a los estándares que pretende imponer la doble moral, en tanto que aquellos que permanecen ocultos tienen el anhelo de ser encontrados, pero el temor a lo presente y la natural incertidumbre de lo desconocido les obliga a morir en el olvido.

This song ‘Seek to Hide’ is a true diving into the fact that we are a society so caught up in a digital world that when something real actually happens we have no idea where to turn. Who is real? What is fake? Who am I? Am I famous? Am I a nobody? Is this place around me VR? All questions of how messed up our society has become. It’s confusing and bizarre watching the world around us become more digital than ever before.
Esta canción, ‘Seek to Hide’, es una verdadera inmersión en el hecho de que somos una sociedad tan atrapada en un mundo digital que cuando algo realmente sucede no tenemos idea de a dónde acudir. ¿Quien es real? ¿Qué es falso? ¿Quién soy? ¿Soy famoso? ¿Soy un don nadie? ¿Es Realidad Virtual este lugar a mi alrededor? Todas las preguntas sobre cuán desordenada se ha vuelto nuestra sociedad. Es confuso y extraño ver cómo el mundo que nos rodea se vuelve más digital que nunca.

Our vibe tends to move darker, but lately and surprisingly it has been uptempo, yet still dark. I have always loved that. A sound that is super energetic but downright dreary. I think that is where we are. We’re pumped to get depressed, but also in ideas that were nearly all conceived on their first play-throughs. Emotion translated into tempos. Take the primal element of rhythm and build layers on top of it. Ours just happened to turn out the way they are here, and we were super excited how it came to be. Probably one of my favorite releases we’ve put out there.
Nuestro ambiente tiende a volverse más oscuro, pero últimamente y sorprendentemente ha sido uptempo, pero aún oscuro. Siempre me ha encantado eso. Un sonido súper enérgico pero francamente triste. Creo que ahí es donde estamos. Estamos entusiasmados por deprimirnos, pero también por ideas que casi todas fueron concebidas en sus primeras acordes. Emoción traducida en tempos. Toma el elemento primario del ritmo y construye capas encima de él. El nuestro resultó ser como están aquí, y estábamos muy emocionados de cómo surgió. Probablemente uno de mis lanzamientos favoritos de todo lo que hemos publicado.

Working on “melting” and collaborating during writing and composing process was extremely rewarding. So when we started to put ideas together it seemed like new ideas were jumping out at me. And working with Ryan was fantastic. There was an openness to explore and no ideas or conversations were off limits. It really helped push me to be thoughtful (and critical) about what I was contributing and kept me very committed throughout the entire process.
Trabajar en “melting” y colaborar durante el proceso de escritura y composición fue extremadamente gratificante. Entonces, cuando comenzamos a juntar ideas, parecía que me estaban surgiendo nuevas ideas. Y trabajar con Ryan fue fantástico. Había una apertura para explorar y no había ideas ni conversaciones fuera de los límites. Realmente me ayudó a ser reflexivo (y crítico) sobre lo que estaba contribuyendo y me mantuvo muy comprometido durante todo el proceso.
