The Room in the Wood es la banda que Paul Cavanagh y Dave Jackson integraran luego de pasar poco más de 3 décadas distanciados tras la disolución de su banda, The Wood, en 1985, de manera tal que, luego de asumir con toda seriedad éste reencuentro y recetarnos Time Machine, Mars (Won’t Save Us), Greedy Stars y Magical Thinking como sencillos extraídos de los EP’s Magical Thinking, Mars, y su álbum debut homónimo, tienen listo un nuevo disco que lleva por nombre We’re The Martians, Now, mismo que estará disponible a principios de 2020 y del cual nos presentan el primer avance.
Charmed es el leitmotiv de aquella escena que se monta a partir de la mal llamada empatía, que si bien contribuye a visibilizar ciertos temas pendientes en la agenda del progreso de la humanidad, lo cierto es que de nada sirve, pues su aplicación práctica no incluye acciones directas que resulten contundentes en la resolución del problema, de manera tal que quien se presenta con ésta tarjeta suele quedarse como simple espectador, en espera de recibir el crédito por el trabajo de alguien más, todo en beneficio por el uso de su imagen.
Charmed is about the entitled arrogance of the privately educated rich. It’s about disaster capitalism as pursued by the Moggs & Johnsons of the world, who use jingoism as a mask for self-interest – effectively fiddling while our culture collapses. The music references faux sixties optimism.

Se trata del capitalismo de desastre perseguido por los Moggs & Johnsons del mundo, quienes usan el jingoismo como una máscara para el interés propio, jugando de manera efectiva mientras nuestra cultura colapsa. La música hace referencia al falso optimismo de los años sesenta.
