Keeley tiene en el Brave Warrior EP, a salir éste 18 de Junio en plataformas digitales como Spotify y Bandcamp, un disco que bien pudiera catalogarse como una obra de amor, más por el motivo detrás de ésta obra es que tenemos un testimonio de amor más alto, ejemplo de verdadero feminismo y para todo activismo, pues si bien en el primer sencillo, The Glitter and the Glue, nos presentara a la protagonista de, no solo éste material, sino de su blog, The Keeley Chronicles, en el cual da seguimiento, a la par de contribuir en en la resolución del cruel asesinato y desaparición de Inga Maria Hauser, ocurrido en la década de los 80.

Never Here Always There es la promesa que se realiza a las personas que, con su ausencia dejan algo más que un espacio o una pena, pues para quienes quedamos atrás es necesario no buscar culpables o exigir justicia, sino llevar la verdad a la luz, en muestra y sacrificio por amor, no solo a la persona, comunidad o familia, sino a toda la humanidad.

Inga is the subject of everything I write. From the moment I first read about her exactly five years ago now, her cause became a burning obsession for me. Since that day I haven’t written a song about anyone or anything else… I consider myself a concept artist and my purpose is to give Inga a voice.
Inga es el tema de todo lo que escribo. Desde el momento en que leí por primera vez sobre ella, hace exactamente cinco años, su causa se convirtió en una obsesión ardiente para mí. Keeley, Never Here Always There…

Never Here Always There is a very unusual song in that the writing of it was inspired by my seeing a brief snippet of footage from a TV programme, specifically a 2005 episode of the long-running TV series Crimewatch UK, that featured a new appeal into the 1988 murder of German tourist Inga Maria Hauser in Northern Ireland, a case that the show had first featured back in 1988. Inga’s case is unique in the annals of true crime history. It is the only instance of a sexually motivated murder of a tourist in Northern Ireland ever. In 1988, it was the first case of its kind. Remarkably, in 2021, 33 years on, it remains the only case of its kind.
Never Here Always There es una canción muy inusual ya que la escritura de la misma se inspiró en que vi un breve fragmento de metraje de un programa de televisión, específicamente un episodio de 2005 de la serie de televisión de larga duración Crimewatch UK, que presentaba un nuevo atractivo en el asesinato en 1988 de la turista alemana Inga Maria Hauser en Irlanda del Norte, un caso que el programa había presentado por primera vez en 1988. Inga Maria Hauser was an 18-year-old grammar school student, artist and musician from Munich, Germany who was on a sightseeing trip of the UK and Ireland, her first trip away from home without her parents. Inga had barely set foot on the island of Ireland before she was the subject of what police have described as “a vicious, ruthless assault”. She was sexually assaulted and murdered in a way that was deeply disturbing, with a ferocious and totally excessive use of force deployed by her killers who subsequently discarded her remains and ‘staged’ her crime scene in a breathtakingly callous (and downright odd) manner. In 2016 I chanced upon the story of Inga’s case and became so moved and fascinated by her and her story that it changed the course of my life. It is both the saddest and the scariest story I have ever known.
Inga Maria Hauser era una estudiante de primaria, artista y músico de 18 años de Munich, Alemania, que estaba en un viaje turístico por el Reino Unido e Irlanda, su primer viaje fuera de casa sin sus padres. Inga apenas había puesto un pie en la isla de Irlanda antes de ser objeto de lo que la policía ha descrito como «un asalto cruel y despiadado». That same year I was inspired to set up a website called The Keeley Chronicles on which I’ve been publishing the only extensive blog on Inga’s case. The blog went viral from it’s first day online, and over the last five years I have continued writing, blogging and campaigning publicly on Inga’s behalf, something which has become the central focus of my life. Also, as a songwriter and artist, every song I have written for the past five years has been about Inga. I am currently working on a concept album about Inga’s life and the story of the case. My debut EP Brave Warrior consists of four songs, all of which are about Inga in one way or another. Incidentally this is something completely unprecedented in music. There has never been an album of songs written about a murder victim, let alone an entire body of work. I have resolved to never write about any other subject, reflecting my belief that this is the most important subject ever.
Ese mismo año me inspiré para crear un sitio web llamado The Keeley Chronicles en el que he estado publicando el único blog extenso sobre el caso de Inga. El blog se volvió viral desde el primer día en línea, y durante los últimos cinco años he seguido escribiendo, blogueando y haciendo campaña públicamente en nombre de Inga, algo que se ha convertido en el foco central de mi vida. By 2005 Inga’s case was still unsolved and very sadly it remains unsolved to this day, although the investigation has taken several steps forward in recent years, having taken many strange twists and turns over the past three decades. In the 2005 episode of Crimewatch UK that featured a new appeal for information in relation to Inga’s case, the programme makers utilised footage of a reconstruction of Inga’s last movements that had been filmed and broadcast on the same show back in 1988, with one very small, very curious difference. There was one extra segment of footage lasting only a few seconds that was filmed in 1988 but was never included in the original broadcast. For some reason in 2005 it was included. And when I saw it, I was utterly captivated by it. And it spawned this song.
Para 2005, el caso de Inga aún estaba sin resolver y, lamentablemente, sigue sin resolverse hasta el día de hoy, aunque la investigación ha dado varios pasos hacia adelante en los últimos años, habiendo dado muchos giros y vueltas extraños en las últimas tres décadas. This tiny segment of ‘lost’ footage consisted of the girl who was portraying Inga in the reconstruction looking up at the sky as the ferry she was on (the Galloway Princess) approached the port of Larne in Northern Ireland, where just minutes later Inga would vanish upon arrival. There was something about the expression on the face of the girl (who bore a striking resemblance to Inga in her younger years) that I found incredibly compelling. There was such a degree of hope, of wonder, of idealism, of innocence and of courage in her eyes as she looked up at the night sky as the boat was about to dock. I felt her portrayal captured Inga’s essence so accurately that she could almost have been Inga herself.
Este pequeño segmento de metraje ‘perdido’ consistía en la niña que estaba interpretando a Inga en la reconstrucción mirando al cielo mientras el ferry en el que estaba (el Galloway Princess) se acercaba al puerto de Larne en Irlanda del Norte, donde minutos después Inga desaparecería al llegar. Había algo en la expresión del rostro de la niña (que tenía un parecido sorprendente con Inga en su juventud) que encontré increíblemente convincente. I felt and still feel that this segment of footage was the closest I would ever get to know about the precise circumstances that pre-empted Inga’s sudden disappearance in Larne. The lyrics of the song set the scene of Inga’s arrival in Northern Ireland on that fateful Spring night in 1988 and describe what she would have seen, and as much as I have been able to ascertain, what she may have been thinking in those precious long-lost “missing moments”, the last moments of her life when she was still safe, moments where she was standing alone, alive and aligned with the night sky, with the scent of sea air in her hair. Never here, always there.
Sentí y sigo sintiendo que este segmento de metraje fue lo más cercano que llegaría a conocer acerca de las circunstancias precisas que se adelantaron a la repentina desaparición de Inga en Larne. La letra de la canción establece el escenario de la llegada de Inga a Irlanda del Norte en esa fatídica noche de primavera de 1988 y describe lo que habría visto, y por lo que pude averiguar, lo que pudo haber estado pensando en esos preciosos largos años. -Los “momentos perdidos”, los últimos momentos de su vida cuando todavía estaba a salvo, momentos en los que estaba sola, viva y alineada con el cielo nocturno, con el aroma del aire del mar en su cabello.
