The Ember Glows es la banda que Richard Bunze, Kevin Hills, Martin Saint, y Dan Stefik fundaran durante 2019 en Montreal, cimentando su sonido guitarrero en ritmos como el new wave, el psych rock, y el indie británico noventero, siendo así que, en consecución a su Passerby EP, nos presentan un nuevo sencillo que a partir del 29 de Junio se encuentra disponible en plataformas como Bandcamp.

Silent Love es la foma más sincera de expresar el significado del sentimiento compartido, pues si bien la literatura y las artes tienen una vasta colección de ejemplos respecto a la manifestación, goce, desarrollo, e inclusive ausencia, es siendo la silenciosa compañía que da soporte en los más difíciles momentos cuando, sin importar las circunstancias, sabes que estás con la persona indicada.

This song came about when my ex-girlfriend lost her father last year. This is about how powerless one feels when a loved one mourns the loss of a close relative. The old clichés and platitudes won’t help but you still want to offer the gift of silence and love. Because it came from the heart, the song wrote itself. Even the first band run-through sounded good already. We all knew then it’d be a special one.
Esta canción surgió cuando mi ex novia perdió a su padre el año pasado. Se trata de lo impotente que uno se siente cuando un ser querido llora la pérdida de un pariente cercano. Los viejos clichés y lugares comunes no ayudarán, pero aún quieres ofrecer el regalo del silencio y el amor. Porque salió del corazón, la canción se escribió sola. Incluso el primer ensayo de la banda ya sonaba bien. Todos sabíamos que sería especial.

After hearing the initial chord structure and vocal melody, I began playing a variation of my current guitar riff. I wanted it to sound wide and ethereal, with a driving gritty character and texture. I think we all added our own TEG stamp on this one!
Después de escuchar la estructura de acordes inicial, y la melodía vocal, comencé a tocar una variación de mi riff de guitarra actual. Quería que sonara amplio y etéreo, con un carácter y una textura arenosos. ¡Creo que todos añadimos nuestro propio sello TEG en ésta!
