Distant Voices es el proyecto solista de Valdis Stekelis, viejo conocido de la escena independiente europea, que ahora con un nuevo proyecto producido por Ed Sokolowski en los EAS Studios, con la colaboración de Joe Montague en la batería, nos presentan el primer anticipo de Long Road to Home, su álbum debut, disponible en preventa en Bandcamp y que tendrá su lanzamiento oficial el 26 de Marzo próximo, mientras que éste primer sencillo llegará a plataformas digitales el 17 de Febrero de 2021, teniendo como carta de presentación un animado vídeo realizado por Alit González.

Lights of The City es la determinación que debes tener para abrazar la vida y, sea que recuperemos la cotidianeidad acostumbrada, o tengamos que adaptarnos a algo muy diferente, en el proceso no debemos perder el amor y la alegría necesarios para conquistar el mundo.

This is the first body of work completed under the Distant Voices name, which I am very keen for people to hear and hope that they will enjoy it. The album was inspired by events that happened during my journey around Europe in 2019 and, in fact, they appear chronologically in the track listing.
Este es el primer trabajo realizado bajo el nombre de Distant Voices, el cual estoy muy interesado en que la gente escuche y espero que lo disfruten. El álbum se inspiró en eventos que sucedieron durante mi viaje por Europa en 2019 y, de hecho, aparecen cronológicamente en la lista de canciones.

There is a range of different feeling tracks on the album – from lively to melancholy and also psychedelic. They are tied together – both in terms of the subject matter and also due to the underlying elements of a retro feel with electronic flavour. It was a lot of fun to make and is truly inspired by events that really affected me at the time.
Hay una variedad de pistas de diferentes sentimientos en el álbum, desde animadas hasta melancólicas y también psicodélicas. Están vinculadas, tanto en términos del tema, como también debido a los elementos subyacentes de una sensación retro con sabor electrónico. Fue muy divertido de hacer y está realmente inspirado por eventos que realmente me afectaron en ese momento.
