Madisyn Whajne es una mujer cuyo viaje de búsqueda y descubrimiento en la vida ha sido especialmente complicado, pues debido a la iniciativa del gobierno canadiense conocida cómo el Sixties Scoop, dónde los hijos de las tribus originarias fueron tomados de sus familias para ser reubicados en hogares y centros de adopción, de manera tal que gran parte de su experiencia en su ruta personal es plasmada en Save Our Hearts, su álbum debut que presentará el próximo mes de Diciembre en plataformas cómo Apple Music, Spotify, y Bandcamp, del cual aprovecha la llegada de su segundo sencillo para presentarse ante nuestra audiencia.

Sweet Talk es una canción que significa esperanza a partir del entendimiento para aquellos que, de alguna manera, consideran que una ruptura sentimental es el fin absoluto de todas las cosas, cuándo en realidad no es sino la oportunidad de fortalecerte al superar un obstáculo y seguir adelante para llegar a dónde tienes que llegar gracias al aprendizaje obtenido a partir de la experiencia.

’Sweet Talk’ was the first song I wrote for this record. It started as a sad love song, but after bringing it to the band it took on a new meaning. Not one where I sat with my sadness and longing, but instead where I took some power back; to remind myself that I can still stand tall in the face of adversity and loss. Whether we are left heart broken or not… all of our hearts keep beating.
«Sweet Talk» fue la primera canción que escribí para este disco. Comenzó como una triste canción de amor, pero después de llevarla a la banda adquirió un nuevo significado. No uno donde me senté con mi tristeza y anhelo, sino donde recuperé algo de poder; para recordarme a mí misma que todavía puedo mantenerme firme frente a la adversidad y la pérdida. Ya sea que nos quedemos con el corazón roto o no … todos nuestros corazones siguen latiendo.

This video was shot over two nights with my good friends Laura Keightley, David Gruer and Bobby Bulat. The original concepts for all my videos changed due to the pandemic, so I had to keep an open mind and be willing to go with the flow. Laura and David are both really talented Art Directors and they turned an average living room and bedroom into two really fun sets. Laura directed this one and I am so happy with how it turned out. We were shooting test shots on a Friday night and ended up using them for most of the video! I have had to really push myself out of my comfort zones and let me tell you, playing guitar on a bed outfitted with oversized cushions was no easy task… but we had fun doing it and I think it shows.
Este video fue grabado durante dos noches con mis buenos amigos Laura Keightley, David Gruer y Bobby Bulat. Los conceptos originales de todos mis videos cambiaron debido a la pandemia, así que tuve que mantener la mente abierta y estar dispuesta a seguir la corriente. Laura y David son directores de arte realmente talentosos y convirtieron una sala de estar y un dormitorio promedio en dos escenarios realmente divertidos. Laura dirigió este y estoy muy feliz con cómo resultó. ¡Estábamos haciendo tomas de prueba un viernes por la noche y terminamos usándolas durante la mayor parte del video! He tenido que esforzarme mucho para salir de mi zona de confort y déjame decirte que tocar la guitarra en una cama arropada con cojines de gran tamaño no fue una tarea fácil … pero nos divertimos haciéndolo y creo que se nota.
