Black Market Karma es una banda residente en la costa sur de Inglaterra cuyos 8 primeros discos fueran editados entre 2012 y 2016, con el noveno, The Technicolour Liquid Audio Machine, siendo lanzado en 2021, teniendo en puerta el lanzamiento del décimo, Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas, programado para el próximo Septiembre 29, un disco doble que cuenta con una edición en vinilo de color disponible en preventa en bit.ly/3QNCBjE, formato digital en Bandcamp, Apple Music, y Spotify, vía Flower Power Records, y del cual nos presentan el primer sencillo.

Dead Trajectory es la lamentable resignación que se obtiene cuando atas tus objetivos y metas, también conocidos como sueños, a la supuesta normalidad que rige el estándar de la existencia común y corriente donde no hay que hacer nada más que estar y pasar lista sin mayor aspiración que lograr lo que dicen es tu obligación.

I like to think of the sound of this record as Aquatica. It’s like a psychedelic carousel of syrupy melody and liquid audio. Fat, baggy, saturated bass and drums, shimmering jangly guitars, wobbling fuzz, drunken keyboards and telephonic vocals. Imagine something along the lines of The Velvet Underground and The Troggs making tunes together but underwater, performing on marine life instead of instruments and routing the whole thing through a UFO.
Me gusta pensar en el sonido de este disco como Aquatica. Es como un carrusel psicodélico de melodía almibarada y audio líquido. Bajo y batería gordos, holgados y saturados, guitarras relucientes y tintineantes, fuzz tambaleante, teclados borrachos y voces telefónicas. Imagina algo como The Velvet Underground y The Troggs haciendo canciones juntos pero bajo el agua, tocando la vida marina en lugar de instrumentos y enrutando todo a través de un OVNI.

The album’s title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the idea that nothing is truly original. Influence is an infinite web connecting all art and I think that’s a beautiful thing that should be embraced. I often see people getting too hung up on the pursuit of some kind of idea of total originality that doesn’t exist. It’s all in the blend.
El título del álbum es una referencia irónica a la idea de que nada es verdaderamente original. La influencia es una red infinita que conecta todo el arte y creo que es algo hermoso que debería aceptarse. A menudo veo gente obsesionada con la búsqueda de algún tipo de idea de originalidad total que no existe. Todo está en la mezcla.
